WTO & CHINA: Beijing International Forum (2006)

  To celebrate the 5 th anniversary of China's accession to the WTO, “WTO & CHINA: Beijing International Forum (2006)” will be held on November 9 th and 10 th , 2006 in Beijing News Plaza Hotel. The forum is sponsored by Beijing WTO Affairs Center, organized by UN Trade Point Beijing, Beijing International Economic and Trade Research Institute and <Economic & Trade Update> magazine house, and supported by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, Chaoyang District Government and Monterey Institute of International Studies in the USA.

  With the support of the Chinese government and Beijing municipal government, the “WTO & CHINA: Beijing International Forum” has been successfully held for five years in a row. The forum has become well-known in this field and has a far-reaching influence both at home and abroad. Mr. Supachai Panitchpakdi, General Secretary of the WTO, many other officials from international organizations, Madam Wu Yi, Vice Premier of the State Council, and Mr. Cheng Siwei, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China have attended and delivered their speeches at the forum. Nearly ten thousand executives and business experts, domestic and foreign, have taken part in the activities organized by the Forum.

  The theme of the Forum in 2006 is “Stride Forward to the International Market: Ways Leading to Rapid Development of the Small and Medium Enterprises”. This forum will make thorough discussions and studies focusing on “ Improve the Governmental Service System of Trade Promotion for the Small and Medium Enterprises ”, “ Construct the Information Service Platform for the Small and Medium Enterprises ”, and “Patterns and Experiences of the Small and Medium Enterprises' international market exploitation”.

  Our honored guests, from home and abroad, are invited to this Forum, including officials of all levels in charge of small and medium-sized enterprise affairs, leaders of targeting trade promotion organizations and information service organizations for small and medium-sized enterprises, representatives from all types of domestic and foreign small and medium-sized enterprises. Everyone will share their original opinions in the respective areas with forum participants.

  We believe that the Forum 2006 will provide original trains of thought for local world trade organizations to promote the small and medium enterprises' trade development.
